Barbecue Lentil & Bean Burger

A hearty barbecue lentil and bean burger made with wholesome grains, oats, and smoky spices, grilled and served in a toasted gluten-free bun with fresh tomato, lettuce, red onion, avocado, and creamy barbecue mayo.

INGREDIENTS – 10 COVERS

110g Onions – diced

680g White Beans – drained & mashed

84g Gluten Free Rolled Oats

156g Red Lentils

156g Barley – Cooked

20g Major Barbecue Mari Base

40g Vegetable Oil

10 Gluten Free Burger Buns

750g Tomatoes – sliced

100g Lettuce – washed

150g Red Onions – sliced

200g Avocado – sliced

140g Major Barbecue Base

250g Vegan Mayonnaise

METHOD

  1. Fry the onions in the vegetable oil until golden.

  2. Place the lentils, barley, onions, beans. Oats and barbecue mari base in a bowl.

  3. Mix well and store into the fridge to firm up.

  4. Mould into 125g burgers and store ready for use.

  5. Toast the buns and grill the burgers.

  6. Mix the mayonnaise and 35g Major Barbecue Mari Base.

  7. Spread the buns with mayo mix layer up with lettuce tomatoes, avocado and onion.

  8. Once the burger is grilled brush with some of the barbecue Mari Base.

  9. Place on the top bun.
